Video: Using Blawx for Rules as Code

We recently did a demonstration of at the Regulatory Innovation Showcase. The Showcase was put on by the Community of Federal Regulators and the Canada School of Public Service, and was held in conjunction with the FWD50 conference on November 5, 2019.

The audience was Canadian federal public servants interested in regulatory innovation, and the presentation was as a part of the Rules as Code panel.

Rules as Code is the technological aspect of a larger movement called “Better Rules”, which aims to improve the delivery of services by governments by changing how laws and regulations are written, and how they are implemented. The ideal future state would involve encoding the rules as they are being drafted.

We were invited to demonstrate the benefits of using rules-based coding tools like Blawx to build web applications that implement encoded rules. The demonstration takes advantage of all the latest improvements to Blawx.

For those who couldn’t be there, we have created a YouTube version of the demonstration. Please check it out and let us know what you think.
