Blawx to be Featured at Regulatory Innovation Showcase

Blawx’s Jason Morris will be speaking about and demonstrating Blawx at the Regulatory Innovation Showcase in Ottawa on November 5, 2019, as part of a panel on Rules as Code.

The panel will be chaired by world-recognized Rules as Code and public sector innovation leader, Pia Andrews. Ms. Andrews has been at the forefront of Rules as Code and the broader “Better Rules” movements for several years, starting with her work inside the New Zealand public service, and then with her work inside the government of New South Wales.

Jason will be talking about his research into the benefits of and problems with declarative logic programming technology for encoding rules, which is the topic of his LLM research at the University of Alberta. He will also be demonstrating the use of Blawx integrated with Docassemble over the Blawx Reasoner API.

Jason will demonstrate what it looks like to build a new web-based app based on a Blawx encoding of the imaginary Australian Beard Tax Act, available on GitHub.

The Community of Federal Regulators and the Canada School of Public Service are hosting the Regulatory Innovation Showcase, in conjunction with FWD50. FWD50 is an annual conference on public sector innovation and technology, and runs November 5-7, 2019 in Ottawa.
